Seoulistic.com is 1st Page on Google!

8 Oct

Google is the number 1 search engine in the world, and being on the first page for any popular keywords on google means really you’re doing a good job for SEO (search engine optimization, tactics for trying to get on the first page of google). In addition to solid technique, it also takes some time to get yourself on the first page of Google. And since Seoulistic.com has been around for a little over 6 months, I’ve been able to get on the first page of google for a number of important keywords and phrases.

My target audience is people coming to visit Seoul. And what do people traveling search for? Good restaurants! The number 1 Korean food people around the world know? Galbi! That’s why my very first post was the 10 most best galbi restaurants in Korea.

Search “best galbi restaurant in Seoul” and Seoulistic.com’s post is number 1 (it may be different according to where you’re located)! It even beat out the travel site juggernaut CNNGo.com. Holla!

Many people that travel to an unfamiliar place search for famous restaurants. So if you search for famous restaurants in Seoul, Seoulistic.com’s post on Seoul’s 10 Oldest (and Best!) Restaurants Β comes out 3rd. That’s HUGE man… seriously.

But the one I am most proud of is my post on How to Get Free Wifi Anywhere in Korea. It grabbed the top spot on Google for even the really general search term “wifi in Korea.” And of course if you’re traveling to Korea and googling for “free wifi in Korea,” Seoulistic will come up first as well.

I have a number of other search terms related to my niche, and I rank on the first page for. But the site is still young and it’ll only get better. It just takes time. This is very, very encouraging. I’m bad ass, yo!

BTW, if you were traveling to Korea, what would you search for? Let me know so I can get the keywords and also help you out too!

Thanks everyone!!!! πŸ˜€

I’m about to come to Korea for 2 years and the thing I’m searching for right now is best ways to get into Seoul from the airport. I know the subway, but I’m gonna have 2 huge pieces of luggage, so I’m looking for taxi services (preferably that I can reserve, and speak English), that sort of thing. I think I’ve seen some articles on this, but perhaps you could add a little sumthin sumthin to the mix πŸ™‚

Congratulations on ranking 1st place on the search engine
    Impressive indeed
So I thought why not suggest this
Can you talk about the restaurants that serve “Halal Food”?
You know that Muslims are not allowed to eat certain dishes which have alcohol or pork in it
So where is the best places in Seoul to find a nice Korean halal meal for all those Muslims who are visiting Korea this year or in the near future
    Thank you !!!!
Don’t stop tying and keep doing what you do best
    Have a nice day πŸ™‚

Congrats on your SEO ranking! I am going to Korea, and those keywords “free wifi”, how to get here wifi access, are important. Here are a few more, hope you can write articles on it:
1 – cheap places to stay – goshiwon, oneroom, hotel
2 – is it cheaper to stay outside of Seoul? (KEY but connected to the subway)
3 – korean electronics price list / mall
4 – learning the Korean language in 4 hours (akin to the 4 Hour Work Week kind of methodology)
5 – best photography location (everyone is a photo freak nowadays)
    6 – getting a job in Seoul
    7 – how to meet K-pop stars
    8 – how to be a K-pop star
9 – how to start a restaurant or business in Korea?
10 – how to employ koreans to work for me?

People come to my site (http://www.thekoreaguide.com) mostly using the keywords – Cost of living in Korea. Mostly information related to settling down in Korea.

But I believe rather than breaking our head towards the SEO rankings one should focus more on creating detailed and helpful guides that no one else can come up with.. Mostly the research aspect is important and with Seoulites link on Galbi it is pretty detailed. So obviously google would want the best thing to show up first.
